Yes, Michael Paliotta will be a sophomore at UVM this year. They might have a recruit on the list too....I'll have to check!

Like every year it will depend on what CANADA sends. The US and Canada never seem to send their best team simply because NHL clubs are not willing to let them participate.

Who do you think their go to guy will be offensively? Do you think Galchenyuk will be one of the leaders on this team?

Canada is goign to be extremely strong on D and in nets but there is a big chance that Huberdeau, Murray and Hamilton stick with their NHL clubs.

Jonathan Huberdeau - Mark Scheifele - Ryan Strome
Phillip Di Giuseppe - Mark McNiell - Matt Puempel
Philip Danault - Boone Jenner - Ty Rattie
Brenden Gaunce - Nathan McKinon - Thomas Wilson
Sean Monahan

Cody Ceci - Dougie Hamilton
Scott Harrington - Ryan Murray
Nathan Beaulieu - Ryan Murphy
Matthew Dumba

If I had to pick right now, my roster would look a little something like this:

Goalies:
Gibson
TBD

Defense:
Jones
Trouba
Grzelcyk
McCabe
Skjei
Schmaltz
TBD

Forward:
Galchenyuk
Biggs
DiPauli
Gaudreau
Kerdilis
Miller
Matteau
Grimaldi - not on the list because he's still rehabbing from knee surgery earlier this year

Huberdeau is 95% a NHL player next year. the other 5% would be if he had a horrible camp, preseason, or gets injured. You might as well take him off that first line because he's going to be a stud in the NHL next year.

Take a look at Vincent Trocheck, not having him on the roster is kind of shocking considering you're "expertise" in the hockey world. Especially with USA junior teams. Trocheck is a stud, Year to year he has improved like no other.

2009-10 Saginaw Spirit OHL 68GP 15G 28A 43PTS
2010-11 Saginaw Spirit OHL 68GP 26G 36A 62PTS
2011-12 Saginaw Spirit OHL 65GP 29G 56A 85PTS

I like Trocheck and have seen him play quite a bit with Saginaw and at this camp last year, but I'm not sold on him just yet. There are a lot of open spots at forward this year since there are so few returning players and I wouldn't be surprised if he earns one, but in my mind he's not penciled in just yet.

Not sure about Gaunce, but that whole 1st line has a good shot at staying in the NHL, along with Murray and possibly Murphy

Not Gaunce but the remainder yes. That's why I said that they would likely stick with their NHL clubs.

It's a problem USA and Canada have faced for a while. The truly good players stay in the NHL. I mean imagine if Canada could still send Nugent-Hopkins, Couturier, Andrew Shaw.

Anyway, it's my favorite tournament for hockey. Love the passion these kids play and cannot wait to see what Galchenyuk is going to do.

Don't think so. Last season he was selected as an "under age player" because it is a 19 year old tournament.

He's indeed too old, as he would be an overager this year in the 'Q. He wasn't an underaged player. He already played 4 years of Junior being a Late birthday.
